Position Overview:

As a Cook at Pedro’s Chicken, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing our signature chicken dishes and other menu items according to our recipes and standards. This role requires a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and quality, ensuring that every dish meets our guests’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of chicken dishes and sides, following Pedro’s Chicken recipes and guidelines. This includes marinating, frying, grilling, and seasoning chicken to perfection.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Monitor food portions and waste to ensure efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen clean and organized at all times. This includes regular cleaning of cooking equipment, workstations, and surfaces. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in the management of kitchen inventory, including monitoring stock levels, properly storing ingredients, and notifying the Kitchen Manager of any shortages or equipment issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively to manage food orders during busy periods and help maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Contribute to the overall guest experience by ensuring that food is prepared promptly and consistently. Address any special dietary needs or customer requests with care and attention.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or cooking role is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  1. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
  • Keep accurate records of all incoming and outgoing products.
  • Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies to ensure that inventory remains accurate and up-to-date.
  1. ORDER FULFILMENT:
  • Pick, pack, and prepare products for orders.
  • Ensure that orders are accurately fulfilled and that products meet quality standards before dispatch.
  1. RECEIVING AND STORING:
  • Receiving items, checking for accuracy, and store products in the correct locations.
  • Handle and store products according to safety and hygiene regulations to prevent contamination.
  1. DOCUMENTATION AND RECORD-KEEPING:
  • Maintain proper documentation of inventory movements, including shipping and receiving logs.
  • Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to update and track inventory.
  1. QUALITY CONTROL:
  • Inspect products for quality and freshness, reporting any issues with damaged or expired goods.
  • Ensure all poultry products are stored at appropriate temperatures to maintain quality.
  1. HEALTH AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE:
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, particularly regarding the handling of perishable goods like poultry.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols in the warehouse environment.
  1. TEAM COLLABORATION:
  • Work closely with other warehouse staff, such as forklift operators and supervisors, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with transportation teams to coordinate deliveries.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Detail-oriented and organized.
  2. Must be proficient with Excel.
  3. Good communication skills.

PURPOSE:

To provide great Customer service by actively, timeously and accurately processing transactions on POS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide Great Customer Service by processing Customer orders according to SOP
2. Maintain speed of service
3. Process payment types accurately according to SOP
4. Educate Customers about current promotions and drive sales
5. Increase ticket averages by upselling or suggestive selling techniques
6. Maintain the Cleanliness and Hygiene of the counter service areas according to SOP
7. Maintain FOH Stock according to SOP

REQUIREMENTS:
1. National Senior Certificate (preferred)
2. Senior Certificate (required)
3. Well-developed Literacy skills
4. Well-developed Numeracy skills
5. One year’s experience as a retail cashier (QSR environment preferred)

  4. National Senior Certificate

2. Able to lift, carry and move stock items and equipment

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Grade 10 required
2. National Senior Certificate (preferred)

5. One year’s experience as a Waiter in (QSR environment preferred)
